2020 Tot School Themes

2021 Update: You can view our grand intentions for the 2020 school year below. However, as you now know, a worldwide pandemic happened not too long after all these plans were made. Our world changed tremendously, and I would be lying to myself and all of you if I didn’t say it impacted my mental and emotional state as well. Honestly, fear of the unknown was quite crippling, and all the planning and activities were put on hold for a bit. We spent a lot of time in nature exploring as a family during the spring and summer months of 2020. When I finally got my ish together, I began updating the blog again and after going through hundreds of photos from the months prior, realized that the learning never stopped. I guess you could say a fire was lit somewhere inside of me, and we finished off 2020 strong with several new themes and a brand new adventure with the desire to design and create play based learning activities for Grace that ultimately led to the start of our Etsy Shop.

Here’s a list of themes we actually completed during 2020:

The beauty of learning at home means you can adapt to what is currently going on in your family’s current season of life. We took a few more months off from blogging at the end of 2020 to focus on our Etsy Shop. Again, the learning never stopped as we utilized all of the early learning printables we now offer in our shop, in our home. We played games and followed Grace’s interests and curiosities to inspire more learning opportunities. And finally, I was able to make time to continue our blog. 2021 Homeschool Preschool Update ✏️

I’m happy to say that currently I am back in a place where I have the time to plan and set up activities, and have the time to blog more about all the fun Grace and I are having exploring these themes. Our blog is where our adventure began, and I’m happy to be able to continue sharing our story, hopefully for Grace to have a record in the future of our time spent learning together.

It’s a new year so it’s time for a new list of Tot School themes! This Mama recently sat down and made a huge list of topics we’d like to cover in 2020. After a little narrowing down, we decided on our favorites. This list is no way set in stone, there very well could be a few changes here and there, but we will try our best to stick to the themes listed below. You will notice there are many repeats from last year’s list, but remember we have our Focus Board now, so they will be a little different than what we did before. Also, we considered most of 2019 more of an introduction to most of the topics we covered so we get to have a little more fun exploring some of those repeat themes this year, as Grace knows what they are…eek can’t wait! There are of course a few new concepts for Grace to learn as well. We will continue to follow our two week schedule and can’t wait for you to see how much fun we are going to have!
